DIY Baby Mobile

Creating this DIY baby mobile for our daughter’s room was one of the most enjoyable crafts that I’ve done. I didn’t even have one for my son’s room when he was a baby because we were on a very tight budget… Think family of 3 living on about $23k a year kind of budget, but that’s a topic for another post… And a crib mobile isn’t exactly a necessity. Knowing this, and knowing how fast the baby stages go, I did not want to spend a lot of money on something that doesn’t get that much use. Sure they are cute, and they entertain your bundle when they wake up before you in the morning… (because they will pretty much ALWAYS wake up before you do, or is that just me? Haha) but let’s be practical here. I’m not dropping $50 and up on a crib mobile.

Curtain Tie Back

Hello!

I created this easy to Pin set of instructions for a very simple update I did to add a feminine touch to our daughter’s nursery. It was super duper easy! I will also let you in on a little secret. I didn’t even glue the flowers down like I instructed. Do as I say, not as I do right? Haha. The flowers I picked out had very bendy stems that actually stayed put pretty well after I arranged them. I also figured that if they aren’t glued or taped down then I can take them off if needed in the future.

If you are looking for an easy way to add a little something extra to a room then try this out! You don’t have to use flowers if that is to girly for your taste. You could take these plain old things and wrap them in twine for a rustic look, or glue on rhinestones. (If you need plain curtain tie backs to customize you can get them here.) I hope this post just gets your creative ideas flowing. It is always fun to make subtle changes here and there to freshen up a room. One of the best things about this is that it is very cheap to do.

I couldn’t be happier with how these DIY curtain tie backs turned out. My projects don’t always come out this nice… I’ve had a few “pinterest fails” if you know what I mean. Besides this project and the mini gallery wall, I have a whimsical mobile that I am pretty excited about coming soon. Check back often because I will be adding more decorating details for a girl’s nursery!

With Love,
